Specification
Base Part Number: 330101 (3300 XL 8 mm Probe, 3/8-24 UNF thread, without armor)
Unthreaded Length (Option AA): 00 = 0.0 inches.
Overall Case Length (Option BB): 72 = 7.2 inches.
Total Probe Length (Option CC): 20 = 2.0 meters (6.6 feet).
Connector and Cable-Type Option (DD): 02 = Miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector, standard cable. The probe is equipped with a gold-plated ClickLoc connector. A connector protector is not pre-installed. The connector requires only finger-tight torque to install and will produce an audible "click" when properly secured.
Agency Approval Option (EE): Non-Standard / Not Applicable per suffix.
Special Suffix: -CN = China-Specific Configuration. This suffix indicates that this probe is configured to meet requirements for the Chinese market.
Probe Tip Diameter: 8.0 mm (0.31 in)
Probe Tip Material: Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), molded for ruggedness and coil protection.
Case Material: AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel (SST)
Case Thread: 3/8-24 UNF-2A
Wrench Flats: 5/16 inch (for installation tool)
Lock Nut Supplied: 9/16 inch hex lock nut (standard for 3/8-24 thread probes).
Cable Specification: 75-ohm triaxial, fluoroethylene propylene (FEP) insulated. Standard temperature rating.
Connector Material: Gold-plated brass or gold-plated beryllium copper.
Operating Temperature Range: -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F). Note: Exposure below -34°C (-29°F) may cause premature failure of the internal Viton® pressure seal.
Electrical Resistance (R_PROBE) for 2.0m cable: 7.88 ± 0.50 Ohms (measured from center conductor to outer conductor).
Product FAQ
Q: We installed a new 3300 XL probe and set the gap to the recommended -9 Vdc (50 mils). After startup, the DC gap voltage drifted to -7 Vdc. The machine temperature increased normally. Is this a probe failure?
Q: Can we use this 2.0-meter probe (330101-00-72-20-02-CN) to directly replace an older 2.0-meter non-XL 3300 probe (e.g., a 330101 from a pre-XL series) that has failed, without changing the extension cable or Proximitor?
A: Not necessarily. This is likely a normal thermal effect. The probe's output is sensitive to the temperature of both the probe tip and the target material. As the machine warms up, the shaft (target) expands, moving slightly closer to the probe, causing the gap voltage to become less negative (e.g., from -9 Vdc to -7 Vdc). This is a position change, not a calibration drift. The key is that the vibration AC signal should remain stable. Monitor the gap voltage until the machine reaches stable operating temperature; that becomes your new "cold" vs "hot" reference position for alarm settings. True probe failure usually shows as a noisy signal, complete loss of signal, or a gap voltage that does not correlate with physical changes.
A: Yes, you can directly replace it. The 3300 XL probes are fully backward compatible with non-XL system components. You can unscrew the old probe from its mounting and connect the new 3300 XL probe to your existing extension cable using the ClickLoc connector (finger-tight). However, note the performance caveat: When you mix an XL probe with non-XL cables and/or a non-XL Proximitor, the entire system's performance is limited to the specifications of the older non-XL 3300 system.
