Product FAQ
Q:We need to install this probe in a very tight space. The 2.8-inch case length is fine, but the specification says the unthreaded length ('00') must be at least 0.8 inches less than the case length. With a 2.8-inch case, does a '00' unthreaded length comply?
Q:The probe cable will pass through an area with occasional dripping of a synthetic lubricant. The -02 option has a standard FEP jacket. Is this sufficient, or should we have ordered the FluidLoc option (-12)?
A: Yes, this configuration is compliant and is actually a common choice for short probes. The rule is: Unthreaded Length (AA) must be ≤ (Case Length (BB) - 0.8 in).

Check: 0.0 in ≤ (2.8 in - 0.8 in) = 2.0 in.
A: For external cable exposure to oils, the standard FEP jacket is generally chemically resistant and sufficient. The FluidLoc option is specifically designed to prevent fluid ingress and migration inside the cable between the conductors, which is a risk when the cable end is submerged or exposed to high-pressure oil inside a machine casing (e.g., a bearing housing). For external drips and splashes, the standard FEP outer jacket provides adequate protection.
