Q1: How do I configure the VME-PROF-M?
A:Configuration is done using the DPKonfig software running on a Windows PC. The PC connects to the module's front panel RS-232 (X1) port using a null-modem cable. You must have the GSD files for all your Profibus slave devices. The configuration, including baud rate, slave parameters, and I/O mapping, is then downloaded to the module and can be saved to its EEPROM.

A: The two hex switches (S2 for MSB A23-A20, S1 for LSB A19-A16) set the VMEbus base address of the module. For example, to set the base address to 0x85000, you would set S2 to '8' and S1 to '5'.
